White Flag Diary/Staying with the trouble
While working on the collaborative White Flag Art Project I made an object a day, associating with the range of white flag meaning and content. What does it mean to be human, in times of destruction and violence, in times that humanity and nature are under equal threat?
The eighty-something objects are arranged in an installation during exhibitions of the White Flag Art Project.
A wordless poem
Thoughts about loose ends,
broken dreams,
open spaces,
oppositions,
cutting edges,
histories of struggle,
unravelling strings,
grandmothers,
black clouds,
new horizons.
Paper-mache, found and recycled steel and textile.
