Environmental sculpture usually is not only art made from natural materials, the term also encompasses engagement with the environment, and more specifically the endangered environment. It can turn into art with a message.
In this case the park where I would make my piece just got the news that the tiny airstrip at 1 km away is assigned to become the second Dutch airport. Yes I would make an airplane, but it became a tired one. Tired of its repeated message. A tired environmental sculpture. Maybe it will become a new current.
