Tij-ding
IJsselbiennale-Dat Bolwerck, juni 2021
It overflows, a flood of blue flows, no, squeezes itself through the ancient city wall into the garden of Dat Bolwerck. There the flood solidifies, like a river (on the outer side of the wall) has hardened into giant pixels. These ‘pixels’ are of different sizes and shapes. They have handles and some have legs. All of them have had a place in a contemporary household, in a cupboard, at a table in the near past. Now they form a new whole, in a blue breakthrough, a silent storm tide. This tide is therefore a tide-thing. It tells stories about the poetry and depths of blue, about time and temporality, about rising waters, about building connections, about hope for change.
