The annual rings of a tree are connected to the years and events that the tree has witnessed in his lifetime.
This sculpture unfolds the annual rings of a virtual tree that lived on this cultural heritage land, connected
to the textile industry in the Netherlands. On its rings I embroidered the years that highlight special events in this forest, starting with it’s first mention in 1215 until 1984 when the national forestry bought it from a wealthy textile family.
