Saltwater Atlas

Saltwater Atlas is a collaborative landart installation by Elena Redaelli and Karin van der Molen for the 2026 Taoyuan Land Art Festival. At the center of Saltwater Atlas, where 150 different hands hold the same rope, is the sea. The project reflects on how the ocean enters both personal memories and collective stories, shaping relationships between people and distant shores. The work developed through the participation of many people. Each participant was invited to cast their arm and hand in a gesture of holding and pulling.
