My grandparents, in their youthful enthusiasm, traveled to the young Soviet Union to join the revolution.
They offered their work, their dreams. After six years they managed to return safely home.
What exactly happened in this time they never told.
To me this period of history to which I am somehow connected, had to be digested. Forgotten faces of disappeared people had to be honoured.
It grew into a project: Staying with Stalin, parts of which eventually were exhibited in Almere, Moscow, Yekatarinburg and Cheljabinsk. (2003-2006)
